91 Points

Saturday, October 24, 2009 - Popped and poured. Initially lean and acidic on the palate but really added weight over the next few hours. Dark ruby with a touch of broening at the rim. On the nose spiced cherry, earth, and a hint of sauvage. In the mouth, there is obvious ripe pinot fruit, and the spiced cherry and earth are complemented by tobacco. Still lots of tannins and acidity but it has the stuffing to hold up to it. it drinks well now but im inclined to think it will be even better in 3-5 yrs.
