Wednesday, March 8, 2017 - Burgundy Theme Dinner at La Barca (La Barca): Drank over 3 hours from bottle.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of savoury earth, fresh red cherries, perfume, purple and red flowers. Developing.
On the palate, dry, medium+ acidity, medium alcohol (13%), chewy medium+ tannins, medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of red apple, red cherries, earth, stony minerality. Medium finish.
Very good quality. Village still showing well at this age. Nice nose, though somewhat unsophisticated on the palate, and the chewy tannins reducing the elegance of the Chambolle experience. I would drink this up sooner rather than later.
