Friday, June 29, 2012 - Big, rich, but wonderfully composed. Gamy, lightly smoky nose, accented by anise and wisps of mint. Palate of dense, rich favors that nevertheless aren't overbearing or flabby. Very juicy blackberry, some ginger, slightly hot acidity and lingering chalk. Tannic without being puckering or abrasive. Impressive in all aspects.
