Tuesday, August 9, 2022 - A beautiful wine, really top tier quality that helps me to see what the joy in aging syrah is about. I have a bit of experience with older Bordeaux, but little with mature N. Rhone.

The nose is warm, inviting, not exuberant but neither is it closed. Cinnamon stick was the dominant notes with some dried fruit and spice potpourri. The palate is softened, like thin velvet, with a back slap, top gun style high five that reminds you what a sauvage beast it is. Both in meaty flavor and retrohale on the finish. Such a cool wine experience.
