Wednesday, October 16, 2013 - Liked this a lot, but again it doesn't live up to its exalted reputation (and I do find it a touch ripe compared to other vintages of La Chapelle - 89 and 85 in particular - that I like a lot more.) Lots of rich red and dark fruit and black olives at the core, framed by more savoury smoky, meaty and developed leathery notes, polished and very nicely balanced with fine grained tannins and impressive length.
