Thursday, October 9, 2008 - Deep, deep red almost opaque black color; no sign from the color that it's an 18 year old wine. Explosive, intense, complex aromatics -- blood/iron, blueberry, licorice, smoke, scorched earth, and violet undertones. Clean, pure, precise sweet fruit on the palate. Harmonious and perfectly balanced. Long, persistent finish leaves behind echoes of that incredible nose. This wine must have 10+ years of positive development remaining but it's already a perfect wine!
