Wednesday, February 25, 2015 - Jorge Ordonez Selection. 14% abv. Label claims that the Almansa region is an excellent environment for producing wines of great extraction (code for modern ripe style?) Darkly colored; opaque. Cedar wood shavings on the nose. As to fruit, I get more dark plum than berries or cherries. The palate also leans toward plum notes. It benefits from having the wine with food such as beef or ground beef. It does have a long finish with a hint of bitterness at the end. I would probably not buy again.
