Sunday, January 1, 2017 - Opened this on New Years eve, paired with homemade sage gnocchi. This was one of the bottles shipped back from our 15th anniversary trip to Montalcino in 2015. My experience was most consistent with what Markwhite wrote below. The profile is one of blue fruit, cacao, and baking spices. The 2006 Madre is in a really good place right now, so I'm glad we opened this when we did. Still holding off on the 2010 Brunellos until they mature a bit more.
