Saturday, January 19, 2013 - A case study in why to cellar and why 2000 really might live up to the hype. This under $20 wine showed beautifully. 1 hour splash decant prior to the meal, served with a lamb shank and au gratin potato meal that allowed the earthy notes of the wine to really shine through. "Classic" notes of cedar, cigar box, good 'ol Left Bank aromatics. This was well made and right in the zone. Nice mouthfeel and right amount of currant type fruit to tie it all together.
