Sunday, May 11, 2008 - Decanted and consumed over 3 hours. Deep garnet-red color with a bit of brickiness at the rim. Lovely, classic, mature Medoc nose of earth, cedar and cassis. Lacks a bit of complexity. Very good on the palate as well with plenty of ripe fruit, still a bit tannin and an elegant mouthfeel. Good, moderate finish. All in all this was a surprisingly nice Medoc that clearly came from a ripe vintage. The only thing it lacked was secondary interest in the aroma or on the palate.
