Saturday, June 20, 2015 - What a difference from a year ago: the ugly duckling has turned into a beautiful white swan in only 14 months. Judging by other notes, it seems there has been a lot of bottle variation. My first bottle may have been off, or just not ready, but on this night this wine was stellar. Candied red and dark fruit on the nose with a great garrigue punch, with a full, square palate, lots of savory notes, and pronounced dark cassis and licorice, with a refined and even elegant finish. Just P&P'd, was ready in 20, and did not taste hot at all. Went fantastic with a Fathers Day weekend, car-camping meal of grilled filet, roasted potatoes, and asparagus. Drink now.
