Sunday, March 22, 2015 - This is the first of several magnums. I drank all the 750 ml bottles and enjoyed them immensely. This wine is deep, dark and rich. Aromas of dark fruit, tar, and espresso burst out of the glass. This is now 10 years old and is smoothing out. The tannins are much more integrated, but still present. This could continue to drink well for another five years or more. The attack is straight forward with blackberry, currant, cocoa, and hint of tree bark. All in balance and nuanced subtly different on the front, mid palate, and finish. Full bodied and smooth, it finishes nicely. I will continue to drink over the next few days and update remarks as appropriate.
