This is more claret like than the 2010 Ridge and Hug, but it is still young. The back label, written in ‘08, suggests this will be best in 2012 and 2013. Well, if that’s the case then it is just approaching “best” and I suspect it will be “best” between now and 2020. Loads of rhubarb, sweet Zin funk and toffee and mocha notes. Ok, some sweet vanilla somewhere in there also. Nothing but wonderful Zin exuberance here. My first taste of this vintage. 100% Zinfandel. 14.5% alc. With pork BBQ (yes, more BBQ). Recommended.
