Thursday, November 17, 2022 - Fruit Day - Cork stayed whole and is in excellent condition. Garnet in the glass with no sign of major development at all. Decanted off a minimal amount of fine sediment and a tiny amount of hard. Using a Pinot Noir glass for evaluation and enjoyment. Nose is spice, old leather, dried and fresh red fruit, and floral elements. There is a bit of vanilla as well with some umami showing. On the palate it’s medium bodied with medium plus acidity and soft red fruit. The spice and leather carries on through the palate into the finish. Very youthful with some development showing. The spice builds with each sip - this needs food - something non-complex due to the wine’s youthful expression. Can easily develop for another 3-5 years.
