Striking youthful red/purple color with no meniscus. Youthful aromatics with fresh red and blue fruit. Palate was also fresh exuberant fruit even a bit of glycerine. Slight cola. Mild secondary flavors. Finished medium length with some heat. Correct for the hot 2003 vintage. Definitely not porty or gloppy, just exuberant. Blinded, I would have guessed California..RRV.

Good for a tough vintage and the fruit has held up. I would hold for another 5 years to see how this 12 year old matures?

2/28/2022 6:11:00 AM - Thanks. Now 7 years later and more experience with many many wines from Oregon, I find more interest and enjoyment out of each with at least increasing bottle age. Of course that’s a generalization and can be used successfully in the correct vintage. However, there is no way i would have guessed that this 03 Prive would have shown as you described though!

    cheers!
