Sunday, May 31, 2009 - This wine even though it is not Whitehall Lane's flagship wine has aged superbly. This wine has a very nice inky purple color to it and is 14.2% alcohol. The nose has nice complexity to it, notes of red berries, cassis, perfumey and a bit floral and leather aromas. It tastes of red berries, cassis, plum, and a bit earthy. There is still more than enough acidity and tannin for further aging and this wine is not to far away from developing some secondary charactoristics. Surprisingly, I think this wines best years are still ahead of it. This one should easily be an excellent wine at 20+ years old and beyond. Nicely done, I will look forward to trying it again when it is 15 years old. Very impressive. I can only imagine how good their reserve is.
