Saturday, October 28, 2017 - Open for 3 hours before pouring into a decanter for 30 minutes before drinking, which seemed fine. It improved a bit with air. The aromas were surprisingly modest and offered some vanilla and eucalyptus. In the mouth, it seemed more like a Rhone structure. The flavors were purple fruited and modestly juicy. As the taste progressed though, it somewhat distractingly hollowed out which I presume was a lack of tannic structure. Still fairly acidic, so this should be good at least another 5 years. Horrible QPR at USD equivalent of $116; bought July 2016.
