Saturday, March 23, 2019 - DC/Chicago Wine Dinner Extravaganza (Smyth and The Loyalist - Chicago IL): Served single blind alongside DRC RSV 2007. Complex combination of savory and sweet spice with charming red fruit and good weight. Near perfect balance, much like the RSV, but much more layered and slightly more dense. Already in its peak drinking window. Most diners correctly identified which wine was which, and while I clearly preferred Richebourg, the group was more mixed.
