Friday, November 11, 2011 - I liked this wine, but my fruit loving, fans of cal Pinot did not appreciate it. They found it green and uncalifornian like. One said that is why he dropped off the Rhys list. Fair enough. For me, it is delicious and I am sure the style they are shooting for. There is a nice cherry component kind of like mixing cherry juice with diluted cranberry juice. There is a stemmy quality, although slight, that I enjoy very much. Lots of complexity and although young, this drink easily and shows a lot of interest. Soft and non-aggressive, I would not use the term Burgundian, but it is not the bigger style of cal Pinots for sure. Glad to own some more, I will think about where to open them.
