Saturday, April 16, 2011 - Scott and Kate's din din -- Stupendous beauty. Mind boggling freshness and fruitiness for 12 years old. Still brilliant dark in color, on the nose a kaleidescope -- glaceed dark fruit meets candied black pepper meets mocha meets beef consommé (yes!). Lots of lovely ripe fruit on the palate -- perfectly ripe, heady, floral plum leads. Sexy oak there as well, but not obtrusive (mocha, coconut notes). Like a coconut-infused plum/raspberry glacee. Lavender and pollen notes swirl in and out, and a touch of foresty pine/fresh scents. Masterful.
