93 Points

Wednesday, November 15, 2023 - Nose: Perfumed blackberry and tobacco right away. Layers of cracked pepper, sage and florals. Palate: Starts with a nice dark fruit, reserve of power, silky tannin and florals. Sweet red and black fruit, some cedar and herb notes. Finish: Moderate finish, just lacking the length in the 95 and 96 now.

The 91 has always been a great wine, and this bottle lived up to expectations. Great freshness, and shows the transition from the 80's to bolder flavors in the 90s.
