Monday, January 24, 2011 - UGC 2008 Bordeaux (The Drake, Chicago IL): nose: tight, but robust nose filled with tones of black currants, dark red cherries, cedar, tobacco, and loads of dark red fruits. well layered right now with very good depth, though the nose is very tight
taste: full bodied and in typical Leoville Barton style, very backwards on the palate as well. Gripping tannins that shred the palate with robust tones of black currants, dark red cherries, tobacco and dark red fruits poking through
overall: This will need a long time to come around. Not really a shocker as that is the style that Leoville Barton works with. This is a big bad boy that certainly shows a lot of promise right now, but a very patient hand will be needed
