Monday, September 8, 2014 - The pièce de résistance at a tasting I hosted for friends over two days. It did not disappoint. The wine features a highly appealing, even seductive, bouquet of fruit, funk, graphite, gravel, peat, molasses, licorice, violets, and crème de cassis. Intensely juicy attack, plush mid palate of excellent focus and depth, layer upon layer. Great acid, medium tannin. It finishes with a flurry of flavors, nuance, and grip. The wine's charm and verve make it imminently approachable at present, but patience will certainly be rewarded. It should evolve for a few years and drink well through 2025+. Excellent quality!
