Tuesday, April 26, 2011 - Opened for 10 hours but not decanted- half of a 375 ml bottle. Dark and inky color, very dense. A little closed on the nose, but aromas of black cherry, anise, tobacco, and leather were present. Bold intensity on the palate with still very tightly layered flavors and a rich luxurious mouthfeel. Black fruit, red fruit, herbs, leather, cedar, mineral, tobacco, et al flavors are all there- densely layered and still very tightly wound. Impressive balance and oak integration. Massive structure and gripping fine tannins, finishing long with waves of fruit. Infancy stage, but still very beautiful.
