Friday, October 15, 2021 - Colour deep, dark and amazingly fresh. Nose pleasantly fruited but muted. Decanted for an hour. Tasted like a red cherry tart with too much acid not enough fruit. There were secondary flavours of cedar and a certain minerality. Had an overall medium to slight deeper weight for MM. Wasn’t unpleasant but just wouldn’t give up the fruit and wouldn’t integrate. Consumed over 2hrs but maybe would have been better after even more time. Pleasant and very fresh for its age but was decidedly outshone by 2004 Petaluma Coonawarra Cabernet.
