Saturday, January 22, 2011 - Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux 2008 Tasting (The Barker Hangar – Santa Monica, CA): The nose is reticent and herb driven initially but some lovely ripe red currant and berry aromas start to emerge with air. The palate is quite direct and severe initially with streaks of minerals and herbs but the red fruit really blossoms on the finish. This wine is quite beautiful in its progression from tension to delicacy.
