Saturday, July 23, 2011 - 2 1/2 hour decant. Deep black, purple color. Black currant, black cherry, black plum, vanilla bean, and spice aromas and flavors. Some alcohol noticeable on the nose, but dissipated quickly. The mid-palate is dominated by smooth, jammy dark fruit and well integrated soft tannins. The finish is velvety smooth and lingers. Full bodied with good acidity. Paired well with Greek Tenderloin. Overall, an outstanding new world style Syrah.
