Wednesday, September 5, 2012 - This is one of the top three wines I have ever had. I decanted for over three hours and while swirling the first glass on the table, I could smell the explosive bouquet hit my nose.
I could literally sit and smell this wine for days. Powerful and beautiful notes of blueberries, pomegranate seeds, chocolate dust, leather, spice and a hint of ripe strawberries.
The initial taste was red cassis, with hints of strawberry that moved into a sweet/tangy cherry mid-palate and it finished with plumb and spices.
The most amazing thing about this wine was it's mouthfeel. To say this wine was pure silk is still not doing it justice. It was the smoothest and most balanced wine I have ever had. Hopefully someday I will get a chance to enjoy another bottle.
