88 Points

Friday, March 9, 2012 - A Few Wines on a Thursday (Dave's House): Decanted for approximately 1 hour prior to serving. On the nose, dark fruits, plums, blackberries, earth, crushed rocks, cedar, which was quite nice, however, this was overlaid by a heavy pyrazine note, giving way to huge scents of green bell pepper and celery seed. On the palate, more dark fruits, earth and green notes. Good structure here with some moderate tannins and acidity, exhibiting decent balance, with a good length to the slightly bitter finish. I'm not sure if this greenness is representative or the wine, or whether we had an off bottle. If this wine were less green, it could easily merit a score of two to three points higher.
