Wednesday, January 24, 2024 - Still a flavor bomb. Very smooth tannins. I don’t see anything bad or off with this wine. Great way to experience aged wine. 1997 was an excellent vintage. Finished 3 bottles over 2023. Just purchased two more bottles for upcoming dinners. Getting a bit expensive at $397. My first few bottles were $297. For the $397, you can get the 2013 vintage which was also excellent and will still age. One of the 1997 bottles I consumed, the cork fell apart while opening. An aerator with screen saved the day. The wine was fine. Very smooth tannins, lots of fruit and very long finish.
