Thursday, November 10, 2011 - Magenta purple red, no bricking or ambering at rim. Red raspberry syrup and varnishy alcohol nose - not unpleasant, but a bit not my style. On the palate, excellent crunchy red fruit, incense spice and bramble, excellent crisp acidity, high alcohol and a medium mulberry syrup finish. Not the best Carlisle Zin, but adequate. On peak, and for another 3 or 4 years? I think the heat-oriented imbalance will crack this up pretty soon, and I don't see it improving. Drink it now for the crunchy red berries.
