Thursday, October 12, 2023 - Much better than my tasting two years ago. I'm now thinking that bottle was not in ideal condition given how good this bottle was at 16 years old. Deep ruby color in the bowl. Blackberries and black raspberries in the nose with licorice and hints of minerality and spice. Lots of rich black fruit in the flavor. Very well balanced, full bodied and complex with a smooth medium to long finish, the 2007 James Berry Syrah is drinking wonderfully right now.
