Saturday, June 27, 2015 - We opened this during the second half of a pretty big wine dinner. This came after the 85 Las Cases, and was edged out by that wine. Slightly moldy on the top of the cork, which was about 70 percent soaked through. We managed to get the cork out, and decanted briefly before pouring.

The color was garnet, with clear signs of bricking on the rim. The wine is full mature, and probably just past its prime. The nose was dominated by red fruit, and a sweetness that overpowered any sense of earth. There were also inviting floral tones.

On the palate this was all about fruit and acidity. Tannins have melted away, and this is drinking very smoothly. Decent finish, and we polished off the bottle very quickly.

If you have any left, I would drink it now. This wine is fully mature, at least the bottle we had, and is drinking really beautifully.
