Friday, August 12, 2022 - Like a fine tree with a healthy trunk but shorn of branches and leaves. Put less metaphorically, the great Donnhoff, even with GK, did not escape the vintage. Beautiful medium amber color, a faint nose with vague apricot and citrus rind, and on the palate lots of freshness and decent acid, but almost no flowers, fruit or any delineated elements. So alive, strong but just the trunk. I hope the other 11 bottles show more. Drink up.
