Saturday, March 5, 2011 - As an "ice wine" it has the extreme sweetness one would expect, and the unmistakable riesling signature. There is a strong minerality, almost a steel or flint aroma and taste quite unlike any riesling I've tasted before. A raisiny undercurrent emerges at the back of the palate which I ascribe to the freezing process acting on the skins prior to pressing. Not having tasted that many "ice wines", I frankly didn't know what to expect. This one is certainly not boring!
