Sunday, July 26, 2009 - A very interesting wine, with a consensus from everyone in the group was thumbs up. Gorgeous nose of spices, peaches and wood. Peachy - rose color. If I tasted it blind I would have guess a 10 year old slightly oxidized chardonnay. As others have noted - yes it is a bit oxidized and it is a oaky, but those components integrated beautifully in an hour - beyond that great balance and elegance. Intense minerality complimented by sour white plums and a sprinkle of citrus. The finish is beautiful - medium plus long. This was the perfect wine for a hot summer lunch and we enjoyed the bottle over a period of 2+ hours... Got better with time, so let it breath a bit. This is an unique rose experience and I highly recommend it, especially given the reasonable price tag...
