Thursday, March 4, 2004 - ($30) This is a purchase my father and I made on our first trip to Sonoma. The winemaker had just bottled the wine and poured us a taste. I approached this with some skepticism, but the wine was pleasant. In the glass the wine has a tawny, cloudy, maroon appearance. Moderately translucent. On the nose it has cherry, cola, canned tomatoes, and a hint of cinnamon spice. On the palate there is more red fruit, tangy acidity, and decent persistence. Not a blockbuster, but decent with the salmon.
