Sunday, February 10, 2008 - Decanted for 12 hours, this wine had a nice dark inky purple color to it with heavy body. The aromas were of currants, graphite, floral and a little earthy. The nose on this one is far from where it will be when it hits its stride. The tastes were of dark fruits, currants, mineral, slightly earthy and of cigar. The wine is very tannic and clearly not ready yet. While it has a high alcohol percent of 14.9%, I do not think that will have any negatives on how well this wine will age. This wine needs at least 5 more years in the cellar if not longer. This one should have no problems lasting and evolving for 20 to 30 years.
