Friday, July 7, 2017 - Heavily scuffed label that it is impossible to identify the vintage. The wine was recorked in 1988, so an educated guess would be that it's at least 20 years older than that.

Bricked purple. Opaque and non-transparent. Widened rim.

Dried black currant, herbaceous, dusty red soil.

Great traditional Napa structure - medium high acidity, medium body, harmonious tannin, dry. Amazing pedigree of a wine. Black currant, blackberry, dark cherry. No trace of stewed fruits or overripeness.

This is the traditionalist's dream wine. Fresh, no over-extraction, sensible oak barrel usage. Long lasting and classic. 92.
