Friday, June 22, 2018 - HDH auction at Spiaggia; 6/22/2018-6/23/2018 (Chicago, IL): #07-02, 8% abv. A brilliant bottle of Spaetlese -- probably my best experience with this wine so far. The nose is brilliant, with some lovely herbal tones and some floral elements as well. The palate is intense, with a dense slatey minerality, coupled with just the right amount of sweetness to balance the acidity. Again, I can only praise the hand of Hans-Leo in making such a stunning wine.
