93 Points

Sunday, July 31, 2022 - This was drinking very well out of the gate, very smoothly balanced, nice old fruit to it, honey, and some definite spice notes (saffron?). The sweetness has integrated just about fully into the rest of the wine, leaving more an impression of full-bodied roundness than sweetness at this point. Like the '01 Erd Trepp Spatlase by this producer opened recently, though, this was a little low on the acid and mineral end in my opinion. Very drinkable, yet missing a little "freshness." Still, a very enjoyable wine and a notch better than '01 E-T in my opinion. Rating: 93+
