Saturday, August 21, 2010 - nose: deep and youthful nose of black olives, charcoal, black cherries, bacon fat, blackberries, some cacao, and bits of oak. Well layered with lots of depth and a very robust style to it on the nose
taste: full bodied with very good tannins still showing themselves and tones of black cherries, smoke, charcoal, bacon fat, cacao, and bits of olives hiding underneath along with bits of black pepper creeping in with some air. Good medium+ acidity is showing itself as well to back up the tannins
overall: still quite young and showing better after a good 2 hours in the decanter. This is a marathon wine with great depth and class on both the nose and palate. Nice dark ruby color that has a bit of bricking at the rim, but its isn't too pronounced.
