Sunday, May 22, 2011 - Deep and unevolved. Multidimensional aromas that include a good dose of pine needles, black fruit, caramel and a slight degree of smokiness that is much less pronounced than 4 years ago. Gorgeous feel but clearly possessing enough acidity and tannin to carry it for 10 more years. It has an airiness that elevates it above most Syrah and surprisingly takes on a spicy red fruited character in the mouth. Oh, this is really, really good stuff.
