Sunday, December 16, 2012 - Opened but not decanted 2 hours prior to drinking. Still dark and primary looking. Striking red fruit, grilled meat, and bacon aromatics with a late touch of herbs. Dense and layered without being heavy. Ripe, sappy center with wonderful acidity and ripe but noticeable tannins remaining. Packed wine that will improve for some time. I'm sorry that we didn't give it more air before sharing it, since the last sips were clearly the best.
