Sunday, February 2, 2014 - APPEARANCE: clear; medium garnet, medium legs & tears
NOSE: clean; medium+ intensity; flavour characteristics: prune, plum, raisin, dorest floor, tobacco, farmyard, sweet spuces(vanilla), sweet notes; fully mature
PALATE: dry; high acidity; medium body; medium tannin (fine grained); medium alcohol; long finish; medium+ flavour intensity; flavour characteristics: as per nose: tobacco, forest floor, prune, plum, sweet spice (vanilla), white pepper
READINESS FOR DRINKING: drink now, but will keep 2-3 years
FURTHER REMARKS: excellent wine! Typical mature Syrah, brooding dark but sweet nose, impressively complex, structural components well balanced with alcohol and acidity. Lovely concentration. Typical of Northern Rhone. Unfortunately my last bottle...
