Friday, March 29, 2024 - Golden-yellow, light colored (way lighter than some uploaded photos to the CT database for this wine); aromatic, citrus zest, white flowers; palate is medium bodied, elegant medium-plus acidity throughout, sweetness is present but elegant, medium alcohol, lighter fruits and less botrytis than average for sauternes; finish is medium length. This is lighter and more elegant than the 2006 Coutet, but also a bit less stuffing and complexity. Still a fantastic pairing with food and an excellent sauternes/barsac, but this is one I'll drink in the next decade instead of aging to age 50. 90-91
1-2 hours air: This develops a lovely spice, almost ginger on the palate. Early maturity notes which will continue to develop with a few more years.
