Saturday, March 17, 2012 - Perfect cork upon opening. Decanted half-hour. Average legs in the glass, expected to be more pronounced with this age but shows there is still room to develop. Initial nose has bold spice and hinted at the structure to come. Flavors of black current, basis, berries, earthy qualities, deep spices such as pepper. Very well balanced: deep fruit/earthy undertones/low acidity while still retaining some tannins. Great drinking now and will still develop somewhat for the next few years before peaking in 2015 to 2016 or so.
