Sunday, August 9, 2020 - Decanted and poured. Color has dark pink and orange-y tints, yellow edges. Nose is earthy and a bit smoky, old world vibe. Mouth feel is very dry, palate is pencil lead, wood, smoke, some secondary strawberry, surprising absence of fruit. Really highlights the importance of vintage, as the 1999 and 2008 vintages are two of my favorite bottles, and this one is underwhelming.
