Monday, April 6, 2020 - generally underrated (lesser known perhaps?), this has been an outstanding wine for me over the years. this, my last bottle from a case, was fully developed and likely on the decline, but still ever so good. on the nose, you get those immediate (and attractive) funky, mushroom-y, damp cellar, barnyard scents along with ripe dark fruits that typify big bold super tuscans. although mostly CS, this far on, there isn't striking acidity or gripping tannin left, yet, by no means was it flabby or too soft. this is a fantastic more affordable alternative to solaia, in that style.
