Friday, June 4, 2010 - {screwcap, 13.9%, A$28} Garnet. Twiggy, sappy, tobacco-infused nose. Still some cherry fruits beneath, though - no-one's going to mistake it for Burgundy. The palate is crisp and even a little tart; refreshing dark cherry fruits with only a dash of oak, and still with that tobacco note to the flavours. Decent coverage of the front and middle palates; the medium-length finish just ends with a touch of warmth. Medium bodied; it won't convert sceptics to pinot, but for the money it's OK. Best within 5 years, I think.
